I used to wear a mask that was molded carefully
To maintain an image of what everyone wanted me to be
For most of my life it was all I knew
Until that day when there was nothing left to do but take it off
It didn’t serve me anymore to play it safe
That’s not what I’m here for
And I started to live by just being me
Content with the treasures of my authenticity
And this is what I know to be true for me

I dream big
I love passionately
I give it my all
Yes that means sometimes I fall
But that’s all right
My wings always resume flight
I feel free
I cherish loyalty
I laugh real loud
I seldom follow the crowd
I choose to live joyfully
I’m proud to shine by just being me

It has been a long journey to find my way back to me
Removing the layers imprinted by society
Uncovering my truth what’s always been me within
Trusting what I feel with my intuition
I’ve let go of many things with courage and grace
And I’m grateful for the lessons that got me to this place
Now I enjoy just being me wearing the skin of vulnerability
This is what I know to be true for me
